Fernando Porras Abrego of Ranchita Arrested in Fatal Collision on West Tribal Road [Valley Center, CA]

Valley Center, CA (April 21, 2024) – Fernando Porras Abrego, a 34-year-old Hispanic man from Ranchita, was arrested following a deadly collision on West Tribal Road Friday night.

It was before 8:20 p.m. when the two-vehicle crash happened at the intersection with Valley Center Road.

CHP officers said a 19-year-old Hispanic man from Valley Center was driving a white Toyota Camry in the eastbound lane of West Tribal Road.

At the same time, Porras was driving southbound in a white Ford Expedition on Valley Center Road. 

The two vehicles collided at the intersection.

CHP and the medical team responded to the crash scene and declared the 19-year-old Toyota driver deceased.

Porras did not sustain injuries in the collision and was jailed in the Vista Detention Facility for multiple charges which includes driving under the influence.

In the meantime, the authorities asked anyone with information on this fatal crash to call the Oceanside Area CHP office at 760-643-3400.
