Juan Garcia Arrested for Possession of Narcotics in Cotati Police Chase
Cotati, CA (October 26, 2020) – On Saturday, 26-year-old Juan Garcia and his female passenger sustained major injuries in a police chase on Highway 101 in Cotati.
The incident happened after 5 a.m. when a deputy stopped Garcia and his passenger near the corner of Olive Street and Third Street. However, Garcia sped off through a stop sign and entered Highway 101.
Further, several officers joined the chase which reached 115 mph. Garcia exited Highway 101 and lost control of the Nissan Sentra’s newer model at the Highway 116 exit.
As a result, the sedan crashed into a sound wall and caught fire.
Moreover, authorities said neither Garcia nor his unidentified passenger was wearing seat belts. The rescuers extricated both of them from the vehicle.
The car fire was already out by the time the Fire Department arrived at the scene.
The authorities arrested Garcia on suspicion of felony evading with injury and possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. They did not arrest the passenger.
Practice safe driving habits on the road at all times… even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.
Aim high in steering. Don’t make your steering adjustments based on what is directly in front of you. Rather, what is down the road. If the road is winding to the right, for example, look as far into the turn as possible. This will improve your safety and make your turns smoother.
What Can the Injured Victim Do?
