The incident happened at 7:29 p.m. on Highway 86 and Avenue 50, Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Macken said. 38-year-old Felipe Tello of Indio drove north on the highway. After that, he steered into the median and oncoming traffic. As a result, Tello hit a vehicle with four occupants.
Responders transported the four occupants to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Trello also went to the hospital and received treatment.
