Deadly Kern County Vehicle Crash on Highway 33 and Soda Lake Road

KERN COUNTY, CA (September 24, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a brutal auto accident on Highway 33 and Soda Lake Road led to a fatality.

The incident involving a big rig and a pickup happened at around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 33 and Soda Lake Road.

Meanwhile, the incident has caused a blockage on Highway 33/166 over Grocer Grade. 

While not officially confirmed, reports from the scene suggest there may be a fatality. 

The CHP website indicates that westbound traffic is being stopped at Klipstein Canyon and Hudson Ranch Road. Caltrans has been called in for a long-term road closure.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
