Pedestrian Killed in San Diego Train Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 20, 2020) – An unidentified pedestrian was killed in a train accident on Washington Street on February 18.
According to reports, the Amtrak train fatally struck the pedestrian on a stretch of rails near Lindbergh Field around 4:30 p.m. However, it is currently unclear why the pedestrian was standing where he was.
Emergency personnel arrived near the 2100 block of West Washington Street, in the Middletown district of San Diego.
The surrounding area was closed off while crews worked on the scene. The identity of the victim, as well as their gender and age, remains unavailable as of this time, stated Lt. Steve Bodine.
