1 Dead and 1 Injured in Butte County Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 191
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (July 12, 2019) – A person died while another sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 191 on July 11.
The three-vehicle collision occurred about 1:45 p.m. on Highway 101, north of Butte College. According to CHP, a tree-trimming truck drove south on Highway 191, also known as Clark Road.
At the same time, a northbound blue pick up truck veered into the southbound lane and side-swiped the tree-trimming truck. The two vehicles crashed and the blue pickup truck crashed into a pickup truck just behind the trimming truck.
The blue pickup truck driver died. Meanwhile, the tree-trimming truck driver suffered injuries. The other driver suffered no injuries.
The crash shut down both lanes while crews cleared the road. Authorities also diverted the traffic to north on Highway 99 to Skyway and Skyway to Paradise.
The collision remains under investigation.
