Hit-and-Run Vehicle Sought in Modesto Fatal Collision
MODESTO, CA (April 1, 2019) – Authorities are seeking a hit-and-run driver tangled in Friday’s fatal crash at Frank Cox Road and Highway 33.
According to officers, authorities described the hit-and-run accident as a non-contact that befell at 1:58 p.m.
A vehicle of interest, described as a white Chevrolet Tahoe with a slight lift and custom rims, is under police’s radar.
Per reports, the solo-car accident involved a Ford van approaching the intersection. At the same time, the Chevrolet Tahoe made a left turn as the Ford van approached it. Yet in an attempt to avoid hitting the Chevrolet, the Ford swerved and struck a pole instead, causing fatal injuries to its occupant.
Officials are considering this as a non-contact hit-and-run crash because although the Chevrolet Tahoe did not make contact with the Ford, it had maneuvered in a way that forced the Ford driver to react.
Authorities urge witnesses to call the California Highway Patrol’s non-emergency line at 209-356-2900.
