Fatal Car Accident on 15 Freeway near Oak Hill Road and Highway 138 [Cajon Pass, CA]

1 Killed in Cajon Pass Car Accident on 15 Freeway

 
CAJON PASS, CA (August 5, 2019) – A person died in a car accident on 15 Freeway on August 3.
 
The CHP and San Bernardino County Fire received reports of a car accident on 15 Freeway southbound at 11:36 p.m., between Oak Hill Road and Highway 138.
 
According to reports, a brown box-shaped SUV side-swiped a black Prius. The vehicle then went off the side of the freeway half-mile north of the runaway truck ramp.
 
The Prius then halted near the entrance of the runaway truck ramp. Two people suffered injuries.
 
Firefighters pronounced the driver dead on the scene.
 
Responders also found a child’s car seat in the brown vehicle. As a precaution, a helicopter did a flyover of the crash scene through their infrared lighting and confirmed there were no other victims.
 
The crash shut down all lanes of traffic during the investigation.
 
The identity of the deceased remains unreleased as of this time.
