2 Dead in Car Accident in Everett
EVERETT, WA (January 28, 2019) – A toddler and a man were killed after a vehicle struck several trees and a pole on 112th Street Southwest at Evergreen Way Sunday morning.
A witness saw a vehicle traveling eastbound on 112th Street Southwest at excessive speeds and pass through the intersection with Evergreen Way before it lost control and struck a few trees and a pole. The impact severed the car into two, according to the Everett Police Department.
A woman at the scene was suffering from serious injuries and a toddler in the backseat of the car was in need of emergency medical care. Two men were found lying in the roadway, one of whom died from the crash, and the other was seriously injured.
The toddler, along with the two injured adults, was brought to a hospital where the toddler died from her injuries.
Detectives are trying to determine whether everyone was inside the car at the time of the crash or whether either of them was a pedestrian.
Authorities do believe speed played a role in the crash, but are also investigating with impairment when the contributing source.
