Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Motorist in Escondido
ESCONDIDO, CA (February 4, 2019) – A man was killed along Old Highway 395 near Camino Del Rey Friday night leading police to believe a hit-and-run motorist was involved.
A passing driver noticed an unconscious man lying on the eastbound shoulder of Old Highway 395 around 11 p.m. The driver, a responding California Highway Patrol sergeant, and paramedics from the Bonsall fire department were dispatched to render life-saving efforts to the victim who was found severely hurt. The victim was pronounced dead by crews shortly after.
The victim was described as a Caucasian male in his 50s and the hit-and-run vehicle that was possibly involved was described as a silver vehicle that might have sustained minor to moderate front-end damage.
