Ernie Taylor Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Green Valley Road
Cameron Park, CA (November 17, 2020) – On Thursday, 66-year-old Ernie Taylor died in a pedestrian accident in the Rite Aid Parking lot on Green Valley Road.
The fatal accident happened at around 1:15 p.m. when Taylor was walking in the pharmacy’s parking lot and a 90-year-old woman from Shingle Springs driving a 2016 Lexus RX 450 started backing the vehicle from the front of the store.
The woman reversed in a southerly direction and struck Mr. Taylor with her vehicle.
Rescuers rushed Ernie Taylor to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Taylor’s daughters Holli and Tawni Taylor said their father was “passionate about family” and a loving “Poppa”. Also, he was a caregiver to grandchildren Radley and Tesla.
He was a retired construction worker and a local resident of 37 years.
Investigating officers said conditions were clear and dry during the Rite Aid accident.
