SAN DIEGO, CA (September 13, 2023) – Sunday morning, Enrique Valerio Lopez died in a tragic DUI crash on Interstate 805 near State Route 905.

The incident happened at around 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 805 near State Route 905.

According to reports, a Volkswagen coupe rear-ended a northbound Honda SUV for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash pushed the Volkswagen to strike the center divider.

Moreover, responders rushed the Honda driver, a 58-year-old Tijuana resident to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Furthermore, officers arrested the Volkswagen driver, a 21-year-old Escondido resident, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Then paramedics transported the suspect to a hospital with unknown injuries.
