Elliott Uhrich Killed, Angel Pineda Injured in Murrieta Crash
Murrieta, CA (December 07, 2021) – On Monday, 75-year-old Elliott Uhrich of Murrieta died, while 47-year-old Angel Pineda, also of Murrieta, sustained injuries in a vehicle crash on Interstate 215.
The fatal crash happened at about 5:40 p.m. near Clinton Keith Road.
Reports said that Uhrich was in a medical supply van driven by Pineda. They were in the No. 3 lane of the freeway, traveling at about 60 mph.
Pineda encountered slowing traffic and applied the vehicle’s brakes. However, the vehicle veered to the right shoulder.
At the same time, a 2009 Nissan Maxima occupied by a 30-year-old Temecula man was parked on the shoulder.
The van driven by Pineda struck the Nissan’s left rear.
As a result, Uhrich, who was in the rear of the van, sustained serious injuries.
Immediately, the rescuers took Uhrich to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he died nearly five hours later.
Meanwhile, rescuers took Pineda to Rancho Springs Medical Center in Temecula, wherein he was treated for minor injuries and was released.
