Car Broadsided by Truck in Auburn Killing One and Injuring Another
AUBURN, WA (November 15, 2019) – An elderly man died Friday afternoon following a broadside crash Friday just after noon in Aurburn, police said.
The crash happened around 11:49 a.m. on Auburn Way near Dogwood Street.
According to the Auburn Police Department, the man and his wife were driving eastbound on Auburn Way. While they were making a left turn onto Dogwood Street, a truck going westbound on Auburn Way broadsided their car.
The impact caused fatal injuries to the elderly man. Arriving units pronounced him dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
The woman driving the car was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the truck was also taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.
Police say it’s too early to tell if speed, alcohol or distracted driving were a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
