Woman Dies in Solo-Car Accident in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 31, 2019) – A driver died Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle overturned crash on Whitney Avenue, near Watt Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver crashed into a parked car and overturned on Whitney Road.
The unidentified victim reportedly pulled out of her apartment complex and began heading westbound around 9:00 a.m. She then veered right and struck a parked Ford Focus before her vehicle overturned.
Since the elderly woman was not restrained in a seatbelt, the impact partially ejected her from the vehicle. Paramedics arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Due to the crash, Whitney Avenue West stayed closed while CHP officers investigated the scene. Speed does not appear to be a contributing source to the collision; however, more investigation continues.
To the bereaved family and friends of the victim, we’d like to express our sympathies to you.
