Elderly Man Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Waterman Road in Elk Grove
ELK GROVE, CA (November 7, 2019) – An elderly man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday night in Elk Grove, authorities said.
The fatal crash happened on November 7 around 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Waterman Road and Calvine Road.
According to police, an 85-year-old Edward Villasenor was bringing in trash bins from his home when a northbound SUV struck him. Villasenor was dragged more than 100 feet and the driver did not stop to render aid.
Arriving units pronounced Villasenor dead at the scene.
The Elk Grove Police Department described the vehicle as a reddish color mid 90’s or early 2000’s GMC or Chevrolet SUV. They said the SUV probably has significant front-end damage that includes a broken headlight, grill or radiator damage and possible tire damage. The hood also sustained damage as well.
The suspect might also be looking to get his vehicle repaired, sold or scrapped in the area.
