Tree Falls on Jeep in Bass Lake Killing Coarsegold Couple
BASS LAKE, CA (October 27, 2019) – A couple was killed after a tree fell on their car Sunday on a rural road near their home in Madera County.
According to the CHP, a 62-year old Edward Poulson and his wife, 59-year-old Iva Maria Poulson, were headed down Beasore Road towards Road 274. All of the sudden, the tree fell and landed on top of their Jeep Rubicon. The winds in the area were near 30 mph at that time.
The Jeep then drove down an embankment and struck several trees, causing severe damage to the vehicle, the CHP said.
The couple’s son reported them missing when he couldn’t get in touch with them, KSEE-TV in Fresno reported.
On Monday night, the Forest Service spotted the couples’ Jeep off the side of the road. They found the couple dead inside.
Edward Poulson had recently retired and his wife was planning to do the same this year, their family said. In addition to their son, they are survived by two grandsons.
Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the loved ones and friends of Edward Poulson and Iva Poulson.
