32-Year-Old Tacoma Man Hospitalized after Hit by Car on Main Street and Harrison Street
COLFAX, WA (January 31, 2018) – The Washington State Patrol reported a pedestrian accident late Wednesday afternoon at around 3:45 PM on the intersection of Main Street and Harrison Street.
Tacoma man Duy Nguyen, 32, was crossing Main St on foot when he was struck by a 2009 Dodge Ram. The car, driven by 49-year-old Colfax man Robert Lowe, was turning southbound onto Main St from Harrison St.
Medical responders, the Washington State Patrol, Colfax Police Departments, and the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of the crash. Nguyen was taken to the Whitman Hospital with serious injuries, and was later flown to via Life-Flight to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. He is reported to be in critical condition.
Traffic was rerouted from Main St for several hours, while deputies conducted their investigation. They are unsure whether or not Nguyen was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident.
