COLFAX, WA (June 3, 2021) – Wednesday afternoon, two people died in a rollover crash on State Route 26 near Milepost 118.
 
According to WSP Trooper Jeff Sevigney, the crash happened at about 3:00 p.m., 15 miles west of Colfax. Sevigney added that as a car drove on State Route 26 near milepost 118, it rolled over.
 
As a result, the passenger succumbed to injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, a helicopter airlifted the driver to Spokane for medical treatment. However, the driver died at the hospital.
 
At this time, the troopers continue to investigate the crash. Once the families of the deceased have been notified, more information will be disclosed.
 
According to the authorities, the incident is the second double-fatality in the past week in the Spokane area. They confirmed that two other people died last Saturday near Airway Heights.
