38-Year-Old Durran Heaney Injured in Lancaster DUI Crash
Lancaster, CA (September 17, 2020) – On Sunday, 38-year-old Durran Heaney of Quartz Hill was injured in a DUI crash on 14 Freeway.
The accident took place around 9:45 p.m. north of Avenue F.
California Highway Patrol officials said Heaney was riding his 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on the freeway when a speeding 2008 Honda rear-ended him.
Both vehicles went off the roadway edge and overturned into the median.
Immediately, responding paramedics transported Heaney to a hospital for treatment. Updates on his condition were not available as of Monday.
On the other hand, the Honda driver, 32-year-old Miguel Garcia incurred injuries and received treatment at the Antelope Valley Hospital.
Police later arrested Garcia at the hospital on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. They booked him at the Lancaster Station Jail of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in place of a $100 000 bail bond.
Do not drink and drive.
Practice safe driving habits on the road at all times… even when it is empty, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.
