Duncan Stout Dies in Motorcycle Accident on Almaden Expressway at Cloverhill Drive
SAN JOSE, CA (January 27, 2020)—A Los Gatos man died days after a motorcycle accident on Jan. 18 on Almaden Expressway at Cloverhill Drive.
According to San Jose police Officer Gina Tepoorten, the incident occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. Tepoorten said the motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and immediately received treatment at a local hospital, where he died on Jan. 24. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Duncan Stout.
In the preliminary investigation, officials determined that the 25-year-old collided with a 2014 Mercedes-Benz. Further examinations showed that the driver of the Mercedes tried attempting a right turn onto Almaden Expressway from Cloverhill Drive when the northbound 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle collided with him.
The San Jose driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene to interview with officers.
Investigators plan to investigate who had been at fault at the time. Thus far, impairment has been ruled out.
