Suspected DUI Accident on Avenue 48 Hospitalizes 4 People [Indio, CA]

Indio, CA (July 29, 2023) On Thursday evening, a suspected DUI accident on Avenue 48 sent 4 people to the hospital.

According to the Indio Police Department (IPD), the traffic crash happened at about 9:05 p.m. at the intersection with Calhoun Street.

Reports say that a silver Honda collided with a Toyota pick-up truck causing 3 occupants from the Honda to thrown out of the vehicle. All 3 Honda occupants sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Toyota driver was transported to the hospital as well. Police confirmed the the Toyota driver is arrested for a possible DUI.

Authorities are investigating the traffic crash and have not released further details at this time.
