2 People Hurt in Amarillo Auto Accident on S Buchanan Street and SE Third Avenue

AMARILLO, TX (May 21, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a disastrous two-vehicle crash on S Buchanan Street and SE Third Avenue injured two people.

Reports said that the incident happened at around 3:00 p.m. on S Buchanan Street and SE Third Avenue.

According to the Amarillo Police Department, a westbound white GMC pickup ran a red light and struck a northbound Volkswagen Atlas.

Moreover, responders transported the driver and a passenger of the Atlas to a hospital with minor injuries.

Furthermore, the crash closed SE Third Avenue but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Amarillo Police Department continued to investigate the crash.
