1997 Freightliner Truck Crash in Bell County Results in Injuries
Bell County, TX (April 28, 2023) – At about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, drivers sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on FM 439.
Texas DPS Troopers said the truck tractor driven by a 41-year-old man from Mt. Pleasant was traveling at an unsafe speed for the wet roadway. The driver applied his brakes but the truck lost control and jack-knifed.
The vehicle drove into the eastbound lane and sideswiped a 2008 Chevrolet truck – driven by a 31-year-old Harker Heights man. Afterward, the truck tractor then hit a 2006 Nissan SUV driven by a 22-year-old man from Cartersville, Georgia. The truck tractor finally struck a 2019 Volkswagen Sedan driven by a 27-year-old Killeen woman.
All drivers of the vehicles, except for the Killeen woman, were transported due to the injuries they sustained from the collision.
Officers are investigating.
