Elderly Driver Hurt in Two-Vehicle Accident in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 3, 2019) – An 88-year-old driver suffered injuries in Thursday’s two-car accident at Tierrasanta Boulevard and Tambor Road.
According to San Diego police Officer Sarah Foster, the crash unfolded around 12:05 p.m.
Reports say the elderly man in the 2008 Toyota sedan drove onto Tierrasanta Boulevard after making a stop at Tambor Road.
However, his Toyota crossed into the path of an oncoming westbound vehicle. The woman in the westbound Lincoln Navigator had the right of way on the four-lane street, say reports.
Both cars eventually collided, causing life-threatening injuries to the elderly driver.
A 2-year-old boy inside the Lincoln suffered a cut. Reports did not clearly state whether the 33-year-old mother suffered any injuries.
At this time, the San Diego Police Department’s traffic unit is investigating the details of this crash.
