2 Escape Injury Following Canal Collision in San Joaquin County
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (July 25, 2019) – Authorities are searching for the driver who collided with another car before crashing into a canal along Highway 4 near Contra Costa Tuesday.
According to California Highway Patrol, a truck and a vehicle collided around 8:30 p.m.
CHP officers say the pickup truck driver veered into the eastbound lane of the highway to pass up slower-moving traffic. A white car, which witnesses said was traveling about 100 mph, also started passing up slower traffic.
However, the vehicle struck the rear of the truck sending both cars into a nearby canal.
Fortunately, two people inside the pickup truck escaped injury. A dive team is searching tirelessly for the occupants of the white car, who CHP officers believe might have been injected.
