1 Dead in Trinity County Single-Vehicle Accident on Corral Bottom Road and Olsen Creek Road

 
TRINITY COUNTY, CA (July 11, 2021) – Friday afternoon, a driver died in a DUI crash on Corral Bottom Road and Olsen Creek Road.
 
The single-vehicle crash involving a 2021 Ford happened at around 3:40 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on Corral Bottom Road, north of Olsen Creek Road.
 
According to the preliminary information, the southbound driver made a sweeping right-hand turn in the road. Then, the driver drove across the double yellow lines, into the northbound lane and approached the east shoulder of Corral Bottom Road. Eventually, the vehicle went off the road.
 
As the vehicle fell into a dirt embankment, its left side struck a tree. Then, it crashed into another tree until it stopped east of Corral Bottom Road.
 
The Ford passenger managed to self-extricate and contacted 911.
 
At 8:34 p.m., the California Highway Patrol Trinity River Area, the Hyampom Volunteer Fire Department, the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, and Trinity County Life Support responded.
 
The authorities declared the Ford driver dead at the scene. Also, the authorities suspect that DUI played a role in the crash.
