1 Dead, 1 Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 12, 2019) — A two-vehicle accident at Genesee Avenue and Chateau Drive Wednesday left one driver dead and another injured.
According to the San Diego Police, a 2004 Lexus traveling south on Genesee Avenue ran a red light and made a left turn onto Chateau Drive.
It appears the Lexus crossed into the path of an oncoming 2018 Tesla SUV.
As a result of the collision, the 57-year-old male Lexus driver, who investigators determined did not have a seat belt on, died at the scene.
Paramedics arrived and shuttled the 73-year-old Tesla driver to a local hospital for treatment.
Shortly after, officers closed the area, allowing investigations to continue. Factors contributing to the accident are being looked at by authorities.
We would like to take this moment to express our condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
