Man Dead, Woman Injured in 2-Vehicle Accident in Sonora
SONORA, CA (December 16, 2019)—A two-vehicle crash near West Stockton Road and Highway 108 Friday morning left a woman hospitalized and a man dead.
According to news reports, the 8:30 a.m. accident drew the Sonora Police Department to the scene to investigate. Officer Scott Mallon believes reckless driving or speeding might have caused the collision.
Witnesses informed authorities that the driver of a Nissan sedan was spotted speeding and passing other vehicles over a double yellow line before the crash took place.
Telling from investigations, the Nissan crashed with a small Ford, driven by a woman who sustained unknown injuries. Unfortunately, the Nissan driver died at the scene.
Investigators learned that the deceased man who looked to be in his early 20s had not been strapped in his seat belt.
The outstanding details of this crash remain under investigation.
