At Least 1 Injured in Salinas Multi-Car Accident
SALINAS, CA (January 13, 2020)—A driver sustained injuries in a three-car crash on Blanco Road near South Davis Road Friday night.
The 7 p.m. accident occurred at the intersection. According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver of a silver Nissan ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Prius. Due to the impact, the Toyota subsequently spun out and struck a Toyota Camry.
Of those involved, the Prius driver sustained minor to moderate injuries and required hospitalization. The two other drivers sought their own medical attention.
CHP officers do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. However, it is still unclear what drove the crash.
Traffic lights are put in place to streamline traffic and keep everyone on the road safe. It is never wise to go against traffic lights, thinking timing is in your favor. Because the streets are littered with other cars, it’s best to drive safely and defensively to avert an imminent crash. Abiding by the rules can keep you and others safe.
