Driver Dies in Highway 152 Crash Near Lovers Lane [Hollister, CA]

1 Killed in Head-On Highway 152 Crash in Hollister

 
HOLLISTER, CA (December 23, 2019)—One person died Saturday following a head-on Highway 152 crash near Lovers Lane.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 5:11 p.m. accident happened east of Gilroy.
 
CHP Sgt. Mark McNabb said a Jaguar traveling westbound at a high rate of speed veered into the eastbound lane and plowed head-on into a white GMC van. Subsequently, the Jaguar spun out and slammed into a big rig before bursting into flames.
 
The unidentified driver of the Jaguar died at the scene and the person piloting the GMC, which had been torched by flames as well, was pulled out by a Good Samaritan before paramedics intervened and brought the victim to San Jose Regional Medical Center.
 
Reports noted no other injuries. Authorities are working to determine the factors that may have contributed to the accident. Anyone with insight should call local authorities.
