SOUTH BAY, CA (May 4, 2022) – Tuesday, authorities arrested a driver after a pursuit crash on 105 Freeway and Crenshaw Boulevard.
 
The incident began when a man in a speeding Mercedes-Benz SUV collided head-on with another car.
 
According to reports, the SUV occupants were wanted in connection with a midday robbery at a T-Mobile store in Commerce. Then, the suspects escaped in the white SUV. However, one went out at some point and was taken into custody.
 
Meanwhile, the driver continued speeding on 105 Freeway before driving south on Crenshaw Boulevard. Then, the driver took a circuitous route, and made U-turns in cul-de-sacs and dead-ends.
 
After making several turns, the driver went onto a sidewalk at one point. Eventually, the SUV crashed with the white sedan at a corner. Then, the SUV driver continued, leaving the driver and her passenger in a heavily damaged car.
 
Also, officers said that the SUV may have clipped another vehicle on Van Ness Avenue in Torrance. Then, it gradually slowed and came to a stop near 173rd Street.
 
Authorities took the driver into custody upon exiting.
