Dolores Nelson Killed in Granite Bay Fatal Car Crash

 
Granite Bay, CA (October 14, 2020) – On Tuesday, 92-year-old Dolores Nelson of Folsom died in a rear-end crash on Auburn Folsom Road and Eureka Road.
 
The fatal two-vehicle accident was reported at about 1:20 p.m. near Folsom Lake. The drivers in both vehicles sustained serious injuries, and the road was blocked.
 
Furthermore, the CHP’s Auburn-area Office said Dolores Nelson was driving a dark red 2017 Toyota Prius south on Auburn Folsom. Her vehicle was stopped at the intersection for a traffic light.
 
Meanwhile, the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta driver, a 36-year-old man, was heading south on Auburn Folsom Road.
 
CHP said his vehicle was traveling at a fast rate of speed approaching the Toyota.
 
The man failed to stop at the intersection, rear-ending the Toyota in the process.
 
Officers said the crash impact pushed the Toyota in a south/westerly direction. It went across a sidewalk, and through a concrete perimeter wall before it came to a stop.
 
This fatal Granite Bay Accident is still under investigation. Neither drugs alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in the crash.
