Dodge Driver Killed in Collision on South Glenrose Road [Spokane County, WA]

Spokane County, WA (December 7, 2023) – A Dodge Caravan driver was killed following a collision on South Glenrose Road Tuesday.

The fatal collision unfolded on December 6 south of Carnahan Road.

Investigators said a man driving a northbound Durango on South Glenrose Road noticed a Dodge Caravan stopped in the northbound lane of South Glenrose Road.

Officers said the driver Durango driver tried to get around the car. However, due to icy conditions, the vehicle slid off the road and spun into a ditch. 

The Caravan’s male driver was standing behind the vehicle when the collision happened.

The Caravan driver was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Moreover, witnesses told the authorities the Caravan driver was having mechanical issues and that his lights were not working. The witness said the Durango driver flashed his lights to warn the driver of the Caravan. That is when the Durango slid off the road and struck the Caravan driver and the vehicle.

Meanwhile, another witness said she stopped to check on the Caravan driver just before the collision and asked if he needed anything. The man said he needed gas. The witness told the driver to go inside his van because it would be safer. However, when the witness returned, the man was receiving medical attention

Investigators do not suspect impairment was a factor in this fatal collision.

Officers are investigating this traffic accident.
