1 Person Hurt in San Francisco Auto Accident on 5th Street near Market Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 4, 2023) – Monday night, a disastrous traffic crash on 5th Street near Market Street injured one person.
Reports said that the incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. on 5th Street, just south of Market Street.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, a dark-colored sedan struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street into oncoming traffic. Then, the force of the crash throws the female pedestrian into the path of a self-driving car. The self-driving car struck the pedestrian, pinning the victim under the vehicle.
Moreover, responders rushed the victim to a hospital with multiple traumatic injuries.
Furthermore, the crash closed 5th Street between Market and Stevenson streets.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the SFPD continued to investigate the crash.
