Injuries Reported in Redding Auto Accident on North Market Street at Benton Drive

 
REDDING, CA (September 25, 2022) – Dillon Carmelo remained at large after a hit-and-run crash on North Market Street at Benton Drive.
 
The incident occurred at around 1:11 p.m. on North Market Street at Benton Drive.
 
According to reports, the authorities responded to reports of a vehicle collision. The crash involved a 2016 Nissan sedan and a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck.
 
Then, responders took the Nissan driver to Mercy Medical Center via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the Chevrolet pickup driver, 51-year-old Dillon Carmelo of Redding, fled from the scene of the crash on foot.
 
Reports said that Carmelo jumped over a cinderblock wall onto the property of Turtle Bay School. Then, he continued on foot and left the campus.
 
Then, officers conducted an extensive search with a Redding Police K-9 and with assistance from the CHP helicopter. Unfortunately, they failed to locate Dillon Carmelo.
 
Redding Police continue to search for Carmelo for felony hit and run. Furthermore, they urged anyone with information regarding Carmelo’s whereabouts should contact Redding Police at (530) 225-4200.
