Diana Torres Dead, Driver Hurt in 15 Freeway Collision Near Cima Road
BAKER, CA (February 12, 2019) – A 21-year-old Anaheim woman was killed in Saturday’s collision with a tractor-trailer on the 15 Freeway near Cima Road.
The two-vehicle wreck happened around 3:04 a.m. A 23-year-old woman from Santa Ana was driving a 2017 Honda Accord when the vehicle drifted from the No. 2 lane into the No. 3 lane where it crashed into the rear of a 2012 Peterbilt tractor-trailer.
Diana Quintanilla Torres, 21, was not properly wearing her seatbelt in the Honda’s front seat and suffered fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene shortly after.
The unidentified driver of the Honda suffered major injuries and was transported to University Medical Center in Las Vegas for medical assistance. The driver of the Peterbilt was unharmed.
The crash is under investigation by authorities who believe, thus far, alcohol may have played a role.
