LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA (April 9, 2022) – Early Saturday morning, a deputy suffered injuries in a startling crash near Western Avenue and 87th Street.

The incident happened before 3:00 a.m. near Western Avenue and 87th Street.

Officers said that a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy opened fire on a suspected assailant in the South Los Angeles neighborhood of Gramercy Park.

Reports said a deputy tried to pull over a white Porsche for a traffic stop. However, the driver sped away.

A deputy was found on the ground after he was struck by a vehicle, which led to the shooting.
