Delilah Paray Arrested for Hit-and-Run Following Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Nieman Boulevard Near Laddie Court
SAN JOSE, CA (April 12, 2019) – A woman died, and another was arrested in Wednesday’s hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Nieman Boulevard near Laddie Court.
According to news reports, police responded to reports of a body around 5:39 a.m. in the Evergreen neighborhood.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a female pedestrian who’d been repeatedly struck by more than one car.
Investigators at the scene ascertained that the woman was crossing Nieman Boulevard when a 2000 Toyota 4Runner SUV struck her.
According to Sgt. Enrique Garcia, Delilah Paray exited her Toyota 4Runner and approached the unidentified victim who was apparently still alive on the road. Subsequently, Paray returned to her vehicle and fled the scene.
It appears several vehicles ran over the body but according to authorities, those drivers may not have realized it.
Following the accident, officers located Paray’s vehicle parked on a nearby street and arrested her on hit-and-run charges.
As far as the victim, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office plans to release the identity once the next of kin has been notified.
