Rollover Crash Turns Deadly Following Border Patrol Chase in San Diego County
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (April 26, 2019) – One person died in a rollover crash following a border patrol chase near Otay Mesa and the US border Thursday.
According to authorities, the chase unfolded Thursday when agents spotted several people entering the country illegally by hopping into an SUV.
Soon after, agents tried pursuing the vehicle, yet the SUV sped off. Nearly four minutes later, the SUV driver lost control in Chula Vista causing the vehicle to overturn.
As a result, one person was ejected from the cabin and died shortly after. In addition, the driver and three other passengers suffered serious injuries.
No other details are available at this time.
