Deadly Pedestrian Crash on Highway 1 Claims a Life [Watsonville, CA]

Watsonville, CA (March 24, 2024) On Friday morning, a 20-year-old man from Sonora died after a deadly pedestrian crash on Highway 1.

According to the CHP, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision happened at about 2 a.m. on Highway 1 near Main Street.

Reports say that the Sonora man was attempting to cross the highway when a northbound 2019 Honda Civic, driven by a 54-year-old Watsonville driver, struck the pedestrian.

Officials pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene, while no word was given if the Honda driver was hurt in the crash.

CHP is investigating the auto-pedestrian collision and has not released further information at this time.
