1 Dead and 1 Hurt in Phoenix Pedestrian Accident
PHOENIX, AZ (September 5, 2019) – A woman died while a man sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on 16th Street.
The incident occurred on 16th Street and Indian School Road. A pickup truck hit 49-year-old Dawn Christa Cash and a 55-year-old man while they walked across a crosswalk.
The victims crossed the street against the light while the pickup truck had a green light.
Cash died at the scene. However, responders transported the 55-year-old man to a hospital with serious injuries.
The 84-year-old truck driver did not suffer any injury and authorities ruled out impairment as a factor in the collision.
The crash blocked traffic in all directions at 16th Street and Indian School Road.
