David Rosenheimer Killed, Woman Injured in Multi-Car Wreck on Highway 50 Near Harbor Boulevard
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (February 21, 2019) – A four-car pileup on Highway 50 near Harbor Boulevard Monday afternoon claimed a man’s life and left a woman injured.
According to Officer Rodney Fitzhugh, the incident happened at approximately 1 p.m. on the westbound side of the highway. A 2019 Ford, a 2016 GMC and a 2010 Ford were stopped due to heavy traffic in the fast lane when a 2014 Tesla approached the three vehicles. David Rosenheimer, who was driving the 2014 Tesla, was unable to stop in time and collided with the 2019 Ford, causing a chain-reaction collision.
Rosenheimer sustained major injuries and was transported to UC Davis Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries. A woman from Martinez driving the 2016 GMC was taken to Kaiser Vacaville with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported, and California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the incident. Thus far, impairment has been ruled out as a possible factor in the crash.
