David Ranker, Mindy Lafan and Jeffery Burton Involved in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 4 Near Parrotts Ferry Road
VALLECITO, CA (March 11, 2019) – Two people suffered minor to moderate injuries following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 4 at Parrotts Ferry Road Tuesday evening.
The 5:30 p.m. crash happened when 50-year-old Jeffery Burton, of Vallecito, turned directly into the path of a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by 74-year-old David Ranker, of Murphys.
The crash sent one car down an embankment and the other one to the middle of Parrotts Ferry Road.
Burton, the driver of a 2016 Nissan Titan, escaped the collision without harm. However, Ranker suffered moderate injuries, goading paramedics to airlift him to a Modesto Hospital. Mindy Lafan, a 64-year-old female passenger riding with Ranker, sustained minor injuries. Paramedics also ushered her to a medical center.
Authorities have determined that impairment did not play a role, but an investigation continues as authorities determine the ultimate cause.
