David Macinnes Struck and Killed Pedestrian on West Third Avenue

 
Spokane, WA (December 11, 2020) – On Wednesday, police arrested the 50-year-old David Macinnes in a fatal pedestrian accident on West Third Avenue and South Howard Street.
 
Spokane Police Downtown Neighborhood Resource Officers were on patrol before 8 p.m. when they saw the aftermath of a collision.
 
A vehicle had struck a pedestrian and left the victim trapped underneath the car.
 
Spokane fire and AMR responded to the scene. They provided life-saving efforts while attempting to free the victim.
 
However, the man was pronounced dead on the scene.
 
Meanwhile, Traffic Unit and Major Crimes Unit investigators found enough preliminary information to arrest Macinnes.
 
Police said Macinnes was intoxicated at the time of the accident. As a result, they arrested him for vehicular homicide.
 
Macinnes has a criminal record. Most recently, he pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance in 2006.
 
Investigators said they haven’t determined the specific dynamics of the crash as it is still under examination.
