Two People Sustain Injuries in Milepost 178 Traffic Collision
Yakima County, WA (July 14, 2022) – On Wednesday morning, 64-year-old Danny Williams and a Sunnyside man sustained injuries in a head-on crash on Highway 12.
The traffic incident took place at around 6:45 a.m. at milepost 178, 10 miles west of Naches.
Officers say Danny Williams was driving an eastbound semi truck east on the freeway. His truck’s trailer crossed the center line and struck an oncoming pickup truck driven by a Sunnyside man.
Williams and the Sunnyside man incurred serious injuries in the collision.
According to the officers, they performed extended extrication to rescue the drivers while a tow truck was used to free Williams.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed both of the drivers to Yakima Memorial Hospital.
Then, the paramedics later transferred them to Harborview, wherein Williams was airlifted to Yakima Memorial.
In the meantime, officers are investigating the cause of the milepost 178 traffic collision. They say Williams could be facing charges.
