Daniel Tofalla-Espinoza Dies After Being Hit by Driver on Auburn Street Near Oswell Street

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 22, 2019) – A 29-year-old skateboarder was fatally struck by a motorist Tuesday night in the 4200 block of Auburn Street near Oswell Street.
 
The Bakersfield Police Department responded to a major injury collision around 8:20 p.m. Arriving officers determined that 29-year-old Daniel Tofalla-Espinoza was riding a skateboard outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
 
The victim was brought to a local hospital for treatment; however, despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
 
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was cooperative with investigators. The circumstances and details of the crash are limited, and a follow-up investigation is underway.
