Daniel Paez Dies in Solo-Vehicle Wreck on 10 Freeway Near North White Avenue
POMONA, CA (December 13, 2018) – An 18-year-old driver was killed in a single-vehicle rollover collision Monday morning on the 10 Freeway near North White Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Daniel Paez was driving a 2004 Ford Expedition SUV at a high rate of speed. As the vehicle exited the freeway, it careened toward the right shoulder on a curve before it struck a light pole. From there, the Ford hit a chain-link fence and rolled over multiple times before coming to a stop on North White Avenue.
Paez died in the 3:45 a.m. crash and a 15-year-old El Monte girl and 17-year-old El Monte girl suffered major injuries, while an 18-year-old man suffered moderate injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under active investigation.
