Cyclist Bryan Cacy Killed in DUI Crash on Highway 101 [Petaluma, CA]

39 Year Old Bryan Cacy Dies on Highway 101 Overpass on Corona Road

 
(May 28, 2020) – On Tuesday, Bryan Cacy died in a DUI crash on Highway 101 after being struck by a drunk driver while riding his bike.
 
According to his significant other Sarah Paine, Bryan Cacy planned to take advantage of the nice weather and ride his bike to work on the morning of May 26.
 
Reports later surfaced that a man was struck westbound on the Highway 101 overpass on Corona Road.
 
John Dethlefsen, 65, drove the Honda Accord that struck Mr. Cacy.
 
The driver crossed over to the wrong side of the freeway, initially heading east.
 
Moreover, after striking Cacy, the Accord also crashed into a Ford truck before stopping.
 
Upon arriving onto the scene, police arrested Dethlefsen on charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

Aftermath and Updates

 
Indeed, Cacy, a construction worker and graffiti artist, died on the scene of the accident
 
Aside from his passion for art, Bryan Cacy is survived by his two children, and three step-children.
 
Furthermore, authorities are still continuing their search for witnesses that saw the fatal accident.
