Flagstaff, AZ (December 28, 2023) – On Thursday morning, one person died in a crash on Interstate 40.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that the incident began when a sedan collided with a deer just before 1 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at milepost 207, approximately nine miles east of Flagstaff.

Shortly after the initial collision, a semi-truck hauling produce collided with the car, according to DPS.

The person in the car was pronounced dead at the scene, and the truck driver was transported to a hospital with head injuries.
